  1. Since new version 128.1.0 under Windows 10 22H2 build 19045.4651, every time I send a new message, Thunderbird freezes for a few seconds and the hourglass icon appears. If I switch to a different window, a different program there is running & responding just fine. About 10 seconds or so later, Thunderbird comes back, and if I switch to it, everything works fine (until the next time I send a message).

This only started happening after I got upgraded to version 128.1.0.The message does get sent and is received by the recipient(s), so it’s mainly an annoying error, not a critical one.

  2. ^^ Might be a bug in the new version. You can roll back to 115 stable version or wait for the next release.

  3. “Please note that Thunderbird 128.0 version is also referred as “Thunderbird Nebula” and is only available as direct download and not as an upgrade from Thunderbird 115.0 or earlier versions. A future release of 128.0 version will provide direct upgrade from earlier versions of Thunderbird.”
May I point out that the above is not true of the Thunderbird snap.
I run Thunderbird snap on Ubuntu 22.04 and a couple of weeks ago it was automatically upgraded from 115 to 128.0esr version and has just this morning been automatically upgraded to 128.1.0esr version.

  4. I’ve been using Thunderbird for years. One of the most useful extensions was Xpunge, which no longer works in TB-128.1Oesr. How does 128.1Oser handle the trash, junk and spam? I hope your answer is that a feature like Xpunge is built in.
    Regards
