Windows 11 24H2 Insider Preview Build 26100.994 Released to Release Preview Channel

The new build number is 26100.994. This Insider Preview build can be downloaded and installed on “Release Preview channel“. It comes with new features, changes, bug fixes and improvements mentioned below in this article.

The Release Preview channel provides the most stable builds of Windows 11 for testing purposes. This channel is used to finalize and test the upcoming Windows 11 feature update before releasing it to public. Once a feature update is finalized, it is released to general public via Windows Update.

• This update addresses an issue that affects Windows Defender Application Control (WDAC). It fails to verify the policies of some apps.

PS: Generally Windows 11 builds released to Release Preview channel do not contain any known issue as all the issues are already fixed in previous testings builds released to Beta, Dev and Canary channels.

How to Install or Upgrade to New Windows 11 Insider Preview Build?

The new build is available for download via Windows Update, so it’ll be automatically downloaded and installed in all computers running Windows 11 Insider Preview on Release Preview channel. If you want to manually download and install the new build ASAP, you can do this using following simple steps:

1. Open Settings app from Start Menu.

2. Click on Windows Update option present in left-side pane.

3. Once you open Windows Update section, it’ll automatically start checking for new builds. Alternatively, you can click on “Check for updates” button.

4. Click on “Download now” button to start downloading the new update build of Windows 11. After downloading the build, your computer will automatically restart to install the new update. The download size will be around 2 or 3 GB depending upon the computer architecture (32-bit or 64-bit) and system language.
